I was born in 1975 in Gülnar (Mersin), Turkey.
I received my both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees at the Department of Geodesy and Photogrammetry Engineering, Karadeniz Technical University, in Trabzon, Turkey in 1997 and 2000, respectively, and
my Ph.D. degree in Photogrammetry, at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland in 2007.
I worked as a senior research associate at the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry (Geomatics), ETH Zurich between 2007 and 2009.
I have been working in Isik University since 2009.
Currently, I am a full Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering of Isik University, in Istanbul, Turkey.

I received
•   the ISPRS Best Paper by Young Authors Award (2004),
•   the Silver Medal of ETH Zurich (2008), and
•   the Carl Pulfrich Award (2009).

I am Editorial Board Member of the following journals
•    ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (Elsevier),
•    ISPRS Open Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (Elsevier),
•    Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing (ASPRS),
•    Remote Sensing (MDPI), and
•    Heritage (MDPI).

I am a member of the Scientific Review Committee of IEEE IGARSS 2025.
